Charleston's therapeutic focus is on opioid-induced nausea and vomiting, or OINV. OINV is a common patient complaint, well known to physicians who treat pain. Charleston Laboratories plans to apply its technology and skills to the development of opioids for specific medical conditions that benefit from an analgesic and an anti-emetic. Our first product (CL-108) is directed at patients with moderate-to-severe acute pain. Our second product will expand the use of the Charleston Laboratories' technology to opioid-anti-emetic drugs intended for the treatment of patients with chronic pain. Next generation products will focus on optimal therapy for patients with chronic pain (such as lower daily doses of opioids) and patients with migraine headache.
